Gordon: delicious Israeli food in Neukölln

Oct 2018 • By Flavia Coe • 1 Comment

This weekend I have finally taken some time to cross the city and visit Gordon, an Israeli restaurant based in Neukölln. For those who are not familiar with Berlin geography, this  neighbourhood located in the south of Berlin considered is one of the coolest spots in town. First time I have tried their hummus was during an event in Tempelhof, and it was basically love at first bite. That is why I have been meaning to pay them a visit since that day.

As a big fan of Israeli food, I was pleasantly surprised by how tasty their buffet is. They also serve à la carte food but I honestly believe the buffet served at lunch hours for a fixed price is the best option since you can eat as much as you like (4,90€ during the week e 9,90€ on the weekend). On the weekends, for an extra fee you also get tea or coffee, lemonade and something sweet(15,90€) .

This Sunday I have tried a selection of their food, including roasted cauliflower, hummus, tahini, lentils, shakshuka, couscous, among others, and I have to say that their hummus is so far one of my favorites in the city.

As a dessert, the choice wasn’t as big as the lunch buffet, but I have indulged in a delicious chocolate cake and a small chocolate croissant, which was more than enough to please my sweet tooth. Their interiors is really cool, the music selection is fantastic and they also have vinyls for sale.

The buffet is served from Monday to Friday from 12 to 3pm and on Saturday and Sunday from 12 to 4pm. The restaurant also serves dinner every day from 6 to 10pm and reservation is recommended.

Gordon is located at  Allerstr. 11
12049 Berlin
